Drag any pillar to see how the GOLD score responds. Everything runs in your browser using the same scoring engine the platform uses — nothing is sent anywhere and nothing is saved.
Exploratory tool. It does not issue a certificate, and a value you type here is not a lab result. Methodology v3.2.
Core pillars
70% of the score
How much protein the meal carries. Higher is better, with diminishing returns.
Lysine still chemically available after processing — the most sensitive pillar in the score.
Soluble sugars, an energy contributor. Higher is better.
How much protein stays soluble after heating. Low values indicate heat damage. Credit ramps from zero at 70% to full at 80% and is flat above that — solubility beyond 80% earns nothing extra, so this rewards escaping heat damage rather than maximising solubility. Read a high value as “not heat damaged” rather than “correctly processed” — this pillar carries no upper warning, so read it alongside trypsin inhibitor.
Anti-nutritional factor
10% of the score, plus the haircut and the reject gate
An anti-nutritional factor. Best between 2 and 3 mg/g; above 3.5 it also cuts the composite, and 6 or more rejects the lot outright.

What the numbers on this page mean
- The score, −50 to +50
- A lot's standing against the reference population of 44,147 lots. 0 is not the average — the median lot scores +7.9. Higher is better.
- Utility, 0 to 1
- How one pillar rates on its own, from 0 (worst credited value) to 1 (full credit). 0.5 is middling.
- Contribution
- That pillar's utility after its weight is applied — how hard it pushes the score up or down. The contributions add up to the composite.
- Composite
- The sum of all contributions, less any trypsin-inhibitor haircut. Multiply by 50 to get the score.
- The shaded band on each track
- Where the middle half of reference lots fall (25th to 75th percentile), marked by the two blue edges; ◆ marks their median.
- The coloured bar
- Shows the pillar's utility at your value — red below 0.34, amber to 0.67, green above. It follows utility rather than the raw number, so it reads the same way on trypsin inhibitor, where lower is better.
This is a sensitivity sandbox: it does not check that a combination of values is physically realistic, and it will happily score a lot that could not exist. Judge a real lot from a real assay.
